Cheddar Farmers Market launch Friday 18th May!

The spotlight will be firmly on the The Bath Arms Hotel forecourt from Friday the 18th May from 9am-1pm when the new Cheddar Farmers Market launches its monthly Somerset Farmers Market.

It promises to be a real community collaboration, originally instigated by the ‘My Cheddar’ community group, with hospitality provided by Mike O’Leary landlord of The Bath Arms Hotel and the Somerset Farmers Markets organisers providing the line-up of food producers.

In true community spirit volunteers are organising the local publicity with a door to door leaflet drop and even the local library is offering window space to advertise the monthly event.

The Bath Arms in particular has been very supportive of the initiative, and will be laying on food and drink offers in its bar and restaurant on market days.

Fridays are an excellent day to hold a market as many people like to stock up prior to the week-end and an awful lot of interest has been generated with producers competing for places.

SFM are able to accommodate 15 stalls for the launch and the variety is extraordinary for a market of this size. Customers can look forward to meeting; The Avalon Vineyard, Barleywood Kitchen Garden with their organic vegetables, Beams close Dorset Lamb ,Box Bush Farm Apple juice, Fresh Fish ,Game ,Herbs, Mendip Lavender, Mezé Meze Greek inspired dishes ,Moorland Beef, Real Pork, The Somerset Cheese Company, The Great Cake Company, Times Past Cheese Company and Watts Bakery.

Local Member of Parliament Tessa Munt will be popping along to do her shopping at the launch and customers will be invited to take part in a free prize draw to win vouchers to spend at the Market and a Farmers Market jute bag to carry home the shopping in.
