40 business minds from across Somerset and Dorset convened at The Eastbury Hotel in Sherborne for breakfast on Wednesday 11 June, to gain advice on business acquisitions and sales. The breakfast seminar included presentations from both Dyne Drewett and Old Mill Chartered Accountants on how best to approach valuing and selling a business.
The first topic addressed was how to value a business, with Mark Neath of Old Mill Corporate Finance advising on the various methods available. This was then followed by a presentation from Dyne Drewett’s corporate and commercial solicitor Tom Lenon, who offered advice on the legal aspects of buying and selling a business. Completing the seminar, Craig Howes of Old Mill Accountancy explained how other tax changes affect business owners, with a focus on entrepreneurs’ relief.
Alongside the excellent cooked breakfast, guests were provided with plenty of food for thought at the June seminar and the opportunity to network with regional business contacts.
The next co-hosted breakfast seminar is planned for the 15th of October, at the Bath & West Showground and anyone interested in attending, or wanting to find out more about the above issues addressed in June’s event should contact Jennie Wood at Dyne Drewett on 01935 813691.
